CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS
Language Arts: Instruction in core elements of poetry including rhyme, alliteration, descriptive language and simile. Musical numbers also highlight lyrics as a poetic form. The show outlines the benefits and meaning of writing poetry and encourages all audience members to write their own poetry. Themes: Friendship, perseverance, embracing one’s unique qualities, connection to others, the importance of art, apologizing and taking ownership for one’s actions Theater Arts: Acting, puppetry, original music, live music, devising, storytelling, dance, transformative set pieces, costume design. Science: Different climates and habitats (desert, jungle, deep sea), Roadrunner birds, Boa Constrictors, Angler Fish
